The program of this building was to provide a vertical connection from the Metra LaSalle train station to CTA bus intermodal at  street level and a passenger waiting area for 9 bus routes. The elevator tower was constructed with translucent channel glass that is back-lit at night. The individual bus shelters are enclosed with trellis work that holds flowering vines.
